what you don't know about Eve

Updated: Mar 18, 2021

Ah, to be a little girl again. Wearing sparkly skirts, twirling without a worry in the world. To be innocent minded, laugh at the Disney classics, dance on your coffee table and make a spontaneous show to perform to your mom as she's in awe of you.

Now that I'm in my 20's and live in a generation of one night stands, crude tv shows, silly boys and fallen relationships, I watch the little girls who go by without a worry, free to live not thinking of the worst, waiting for their fairy tale ending.

I've been watching a lot of movies recently and I've noticed I have a thing for romantic movies. The movies that have the story line of a woman getting pursued by a man who could save her and it reminded me of how we'd play house as a little girl and be the "perfect" wife.

Woman love the feeling of being pursued. It's simple really, we love the idea of being "wanted".

In the bible's first book, "Genesis" it shares the story of creation. How God created this earth with beauty, then, God created man. "Then God said 'Let us make mankind in our image" Genesis 1:26. So God made Adam. Adam was in his full innocence, closer to God than anyone can imagine - nothing stands between them, yet, the world wasn't complete without women. Genesis 2:20-22 "But for Adam, no suitable helper was found. The Lord put Adam to sleep and took one of his ribs. Then the Lord made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and brought her to Adam" Woman were the cherry on top to ALL creation.

"Women were the crown of creation - the most intricate, dazzling creature on earth"

God wanted to reveal something about himself so he gave us Eve. Eve was created in the image of God. So what do you notice about women when you observe them?

Women are relational, they long for the relationships and friendships. In the park as boys are fighting and doing what boys do, girls are dreaming and building friendships, bonding over the colour of a delicate flower. Women have a heart for romance. We love to stargaze, cuddle up and drink hot cocoa with our loved ones, we love those cheesy chick flicks and cry while watching every single one of them. Women love to share adventures. You know a female went on a holiday just by looking at her social media. We love to dress in cute outfits and take 'insta worthy' photos in front of unique landmarks.

God is also relational, longs for romance and wants to adventure with you. God as well, has a beauty to unveil.

In the "Fall of the world" (Genesis 3) Satan comes along as a serpent and begins to tempt Eve to eat the forbidden fruit, "Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden?'" Genesis 3:1. And, yes Eve did fall into temptation (don't we all), however, notice how Satan tempts Eve and not Adam? What does Adam do as Eve is being tempted? Well, nothing.

Satan fell because of his beauty, he wanted the attention that God had, he wanted to be pursued, wanted, loved, he wanted to be God.

Our world has given beauty a whole new meaning and we must recover the true prize of beauty. Beauty is the essence of God. God longs to bring this into your life himself, the power of romance releases a woman's true beauty, awakening her heart.

Hosea 2:14 "Therefore I am now going to allure her; I will lead her into the desert and speak tenderly to her."

"How beautiful you are, my darling! Oh how beautiful! Your eyes are doves." Song of Songs 1:15.

God's romanced us through His creation, his candle light dinners are made into sunsets, beautiful leaves in the fall & waves crashing on the white sandy beaches. Only God knows how to truly romance your heart. A woman becomes radiant when she knows she is loved. I can promise you, God loves you. He longs for an intimate-romantic relationship with you. He loves you as a LOVER.

There are numerous examples in the bible where God considers himself the "bridegroom" (Matthew 9:15; Matthew 25:1-10; John 3:29)

So what does this tell us about Eve? God created 'woman' (Eve) to show us that we were the crown of creation, that the enemy assaults our beauty, but God wants to bring that beauty back. Us as women, reflect the heart of God. He is the ESSENCE of beauty.

Ask him, Jesus how are you romancing me? Am I lovely?
