how to stay fit while traveling

Staying fit in general ain't easy but staying fit while traveling is a whole other game. The different foods to try, the drinks to drink and all the relaxing on the beach. However it is possible! Here are some tips on how to stay fit during your trip:


  • STAY HYDRATED. I'm probably the most hypocritical person when it comes to this but I can't repeat it enough. Get a filtered water bottle as well so you can get water from anywhere.

  • Sleep, get rest when you can. If you are anything like me, I want to see everything when I travel and that means long days. Take those afternoon naps, you deserve it and also try your best to get a full 8 hours of sleep during the night, YOUR BODY WILL THANK YOU!


  • As easy as it is, do not skip breakfast (another hypocritical statement from me) but the bigger the breaky the better your day will be. Eat fruits, protein, grains, carbs all the healthy things to fuel your day!


  • Have a morning workout routine, whether you go for a 20 minute jog or do some core workouts on the floor it'll not only make you feel better but it'll make it easier to get back into the gym routine when you are home. Pack resistance bands, they are easy to pack and can help amplify your workout!


  • Walk everywhere you can! I love walking places when I'm traveling, you normally meet someone cool (or not and make a story), explore a hidden place and get your steps in for the day. If somewhere is too far to walk, rent a bike.


  • Go grocery shopping! As much as being wined and dined feels great, it also feels great to be putting healthy food into your body.


  • Tone down on the alcohol (yet, another hypocritical statement) I loveee my beer by the beach, or anywhere. Don't get tanked every night, you'll ruin the next day most likely and your body will be worn down. However, there is nothing wrong with having a couple drinks during your trip!


  • I love delicacies from different countries, but pace yourself! Don't over indulge (as tempting as it may be)


  • If your feeling like you really want to commit, find a hotel that has a gym in it or get a week pass at the local gym and hit that up!


Don't let fitness ruin your trip however, still indulge and enjoy it to the fullest, you can always lose the weight and get back to where you were!
