Banff

Updated: Jun 14, 2022

Banff, Alberta is one of my favorite places in the world. It's a small mountain town full of good times and things to do. It's perfect for any season whether you ski, snowboard, hike, swim or fish there will ALWAYS be something to do!

Let's start with accommodation:

Where to stay? Finding a place to stay on a budget is slightly difficult in this town but is still possible. If you are the budget traveler like myself, AirBNB will be your best friend here. AirBNB has hundreds of locations here, close to town and even far into the mountains! There are a few hostels here as well that average $40 per night depending on the dates you choose, however they are all kept up and super nice!

If you are not on a back packers budget you can choose from over 50 hotels!

- Banff Inn $$$

Where to eat? For some people, this is more important then where to stay.

Breaky & Coffee:

Casual lunch & dinner:

- Tommy's Neighbourhood Pub

On the fancier side:

AND, YOU CAN'T GO TO BANFF WITHOUT GETTING A BEAVER TAIL.

What to do? The list of things to do is ENDLESS! Here are just some of my favs

1. Go bowling at High rollers

2. Sulphur Hot Springs

3. Boat Tour on Lake Minnewaka

4. Sunset at Two Jack Lake

5. Skating/Canoe on Lake Louise (season varying)

6. Hike ANYWHERE

7. Grill some snags or make smores at Cascade Ponds

8. Wander the town - pub hop - souvenir shop - food hopping

9. White Water Rafting

10. Find all of Banff's Red Chairs

11. Take a hell-tour over the Rockies

12. Treat yourself to a spa day at the Fairmont...

Top Hikes:

1. Larch Valley

2. Peyto Lake

3. Johnston Canyon

4. Moraine Lake

5. Sundance Canyon

6. Healy Pass

7. Lake Anges

8. Bow Valley

9. Sunshine Meadows

10. Ink Pots

Peyto Lake

I can keep going, there are tons of things to do and see in this mountain town and you'll forever be wanting to go back.
